Join An Orange County Or Inland Empire Walk For Wishes This April

March 23, 2016

Spring weather is here, and it's the perfect reason to get outside and give back to your community. A great way to get involved this April is by attending a Walk For Wishes. Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire is hosting two events this April that you won't want to miss out on.

The Riverside Walk For Wishes is April 9, and the Irvine Walk For Wishes is April 16. Both events will celebrate the wishes granted by Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire, while helping the chapter fund even more wishes in the future.

Both events will also feature a World of Wishes Festival following the walking portion of the event. The festivals will be family-friendly celebrations with games, face painting, food and live entertainment featuring local acts. Attending a Walk For Wishes is the perfect way to spend the day as a family.

Riverside Walk For Wishes

On Saturday, April 9, come out to the Fairmount Park in Riverside. The Walk For Wishes begins at 7:30 a.m. with on-site registration, followed by the walk and World of Wishes Festival. The fun goes until noon.

If you'd like to register ahead of time you can do so online until noon on April 8. Early registration for the Riverside walk is $25. Starting April 2, registration is $35, and it jumps to $40 if you register on the day of the event. Those who register will receive a t-shirt and an event day pass to enjoy all of the day's festivities. If you want to guarantee your t-shirt size, be sure to register ahead of time. Sizes can't be guaranteed during on-site registration.

Irvine Walk For Wishes

If you're taking part in the Irvine walk, come to the OC Great Park at 7:30 a.m. on April 16. On-site registration will take place when you arrive, with the walk and the World of Wishes Festival to follow. The festivities will wrap up at noon.

Registration is open online, or you can register the day of the event. The registration fee is $25 until midnight on April 1. After that, the fee increases to $35 until noon on April 15. Registering on-site will cost $40 per person. Just like the Riverside walk, participants will receive an event t-shirt and event day pass. For a guaranteed shirt size, be sure to register ahead of time.

Celebrate Orange County Wishes With A Car Donation

For those who can't attend, there's another great way to help Make-A-Wish Orange County grant wishes. You can donate your car, truck, boat, RV or motorcycle to Wheels For Wishes, benefiting Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire. Our car donation program provides free towing and a great tax deduction, but the best benefit is that it helps Make-A-Wish grant more life-changing wishes.

To donate a vehicle, please call 1-844-476-9474 or make your donation online. If you have an unwanted car, you can help Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire grant more wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions!
